ADHD Assessment

Purpose

To provide a comprehensive and standardised assessment for children with attention and behavioural concerns. It helps parents understand their child's abilities and needs, so they can choose appropriate treatment or training.
The service also provides consultation for parents on attention, impulse control,
emotional regulation, behaviour, learning and social difficulties.

Age

6 to 16 years old

Assessment Scope

The assessment evaluates a child's cognitive ability, attention and behavioural control. It also provides consultation and recommendations based on the child's developmental profile.

 Process

The assessment includes three parts:

1. A pre-assessment interview with parents.

2. ADHD-related assessment tools and relevant behavioural rating scales. The child's
overall development is also screened to identify possible cognitive or other
developmental difficulties.

3. A post-assessment interview with parents to explain the results and provide recommendations for follow-up and training.

Remarks

  • The full assessment and result explanation take about 180 minutes. A brief assessment report in English is included.

  • This service is provided by a clinical psychologist.

  • The assessment report will be completed within 10 working days, and parents will be invited to come to the centre to receive the report explanation.
