Peers® (Social skills training)
Social interaction can be especially challenging for autistic adolescents and for young
people with social communication difficulties. However, socialising with others is unavoidable in life and it affects the quality of life of a person. It is difficult to find any social skills training course for adults on the market. Therefore, we established Peers® (social skills training class) specifically for teenagers with social barriers to have their social skills trained and develop good interpersonal relationships.
Course Content
Researched and developed by Semel Institute for Neuroscience and Human Behavior of UCLA, Peers® has been proven after clinical research that it is an effective training for teenagers with autism to improve their social skills. The programme also emphasises parent participation, so parents can support their
children and reinforce the skills at home, in order to help their children and improve parent-child relationship.
The course is conducted by a qualified PEERS® mentor to teach the socialising skills in a clear and comprehensive way.
