School Age Children's Dyslexia Assessment
Purpose
To provide a professional assessment and recommendations on learning or examination accommodations for schools' reference. For primary school students suspected of having reading and writing difficulties, for use in classroom learning, examinations, and school-based assessments.
Age
Primary 1 to Primary 6 students, as well as junior secondary students.
Assessment Scope
The assessment primarily focuses on students' reading and writing skills, and includes the following areas:
Word recognition, dictation skills, and cognitive abilities related to reading and writing.
Assessment Process
The assessment includes three parts:
1. Pre-assessment interview with parents.
2. Assessment and observation of the child using

The Hong Kong Test of Specific Learning Difficulties in Reading and Writing for Primary School Students (Third Edition) [HKT-P(III)]

The Hong Kong Test of Specific Learning Difficulties in Reading and Writing for Junior Secondary School Students (Second Edition) (HKT-JS-II)
3. Post-assessment interview with parents to explain the results and provide follow-up and training recommendations.
Remarks

The full assessment and explanation of results take approximately 200 minutes and include a brief English assessment report.

This service is provided by a clinical psychologist.

The assessment report will be completed within 10 working days, and parents will be invited to come to the centre to receive the report explanation.
