Secondary School Writing
Assessment and Consultation Service
(DSE / School-based Assessment Adjustment Recommendations)
Purpose
To provide professional assessment and accommodation recommendations for primary school students who may have dyslexia, including support for classroom learning, examinations, and School Places Allocation (including internal assessments for Secondary School Places Allocation), for schools’ reference.
Age
Primary 1 to Primary 6 students, as well as junior secondary students.
Assessment Scope
The assessment focuses primarily on the student’s literacy skills, including word recognition, dictation, and other reading- and writing-related cognitive abilities.
Assessment Details
1. Pre-assessment interview with parents.

The Hong Kong Test of Specific Learning Difficulties in Reading and Writing for Primary School Students (Third Edition) [HKT-P(III)]

The Hong Kong Test of Specific Learning Difficulties in Reading and Writing for Junior Secondary School Students (Second Edition) (HKT-JS-II)
3. Post-assessment interview with parents to explain the results and provide follow-up and training recommendations.
Remarks

Assessment and explanation of the results (approximately 200 minutes), together with an English assessment report

This service is provided by an educational psychologist

The assessment report will be completed one week after the assessment, and parents will be contacted to come to our centre for a face-to-face explanation of the report
